Press Release Summary: Tracey A. Bloodsaw, a well known & experienced New York based attorney specializing in family law, divorce & matrimonial law, will be conducting a free seminar which will aim at imparting useful knowledge on managing child support payments during recession.
Press Release Body: Tracey A. Bloodsaw, a much experienced & well known New York based attorney specializing in family law, divorces, criminal & real estate cases, will be holding a free seminar to educate non-custodial parents about managing child support payments efficiently, particularly during recession. Her website can be viewed at - http://www.TraceyABloodsaw.com
Ms. Bloodsaw has been practicing family law for more than 10 years, & has been active in promoting awareness to domestic violence & the importance of the rights of the \'family\'. The New York lawyer has been recognized by the New York State Bar Association as one of its \'Empire 50\' for providing over 100 hours of pro bono service.
"The current economic downturn has led to a loss of thousands of jobs throughout the country, & New York is no exception. Many non-custodial parents, typically fathers, who pay child support through Family Court are faced with increasing arrears due to their failure to meet the support obligation", explains Ms. Bloodsaw, who is sponsoring the seminar. "The law requires these parents to go to Family Court as soon as their income decreases from unemployment, underemployment or disability (whether temporary or permanent) & file a Downward Modification petition. Failure or hesitation to go to Family Court immediately can lead to astronomical child support arrears subjecting the parent to extreme sanctions, which include incarceration. Even those who file the Downward Modification face the tough burden of satisfying the \'change in circumstances\' requirement. This makes it very difficult to prove to the court that they are legitimately unemployed, underemployed or disabled. This free seminar will explain step-by-step, the procedural & legal process for filing a Downward Modification petition & tips on avoiding the accumulation of arrears", she further adds.
The free seminar will provide some very valuable information to all parents, but particularly those who are obligated to pay child support in New York. It will be held at several locations throughout Queens this coming spring.
"Unfortunately, these are hard times for everyone &, as a result, families are struggling to maintain some of their most basic living standards. Although custodial parents have a very difficult job of keeping their head above water, non-custodial parents face the possibility of being incarcerated for their inability to pay child support, in a lot of cases this is unfair", shares Ms. Bloodsaw. "It serves no one any good if the non-custodial parent is in jail, preventing him or her from providing even minimal support for his or her children. This is why I think this free seminar is a must attend for all the non-custodial parents out there who have, at some point of time, found it difficult to manage child support payments".
Reservations are required to attend the seminar. To reserve your seat, please contact Ms. Bloodsaw at familylawattorney2@gmail.com.
